Coming soon to a Disney Store near you, three new Marvel Select figures and a Spider-Man: Fearsome Foes box set. Savage Hulk will tower above the other figures, standing 9 inches tall and sporting 16 points of articulation. The Lizard shows off a new sculpt, ditching the short snout from the last film. He will also have 16 points of articulation and a New York City display base. A 7-inch version of Flash Thompson as Venom rounds out the trio. He comes with two weapons and a wreckage-strewn display base. Finally there is the new four pack featuring Spidey, Lizard, Venom and Green Goblin. These figures will only be available at the Disney Store this holiday season, as well as at
marvelstore.com and
disneystore.com. Savage Hulk is available now at the
Marvel Store site.

It looks like three Marvel characters will join the 3.75-inch action figure lineup this winter. Professor X, Jubilee and 2 variants of Blastaar (regular or a poseable clear ‘blasting’ forearm/hand version) will join Psylocke, Incredible Hulk, Beta Ray Bill, Spider-Man Unlimited, Shattered Dimension Spider-Man and Silver Surfer on the toy pegs at your local retailer in January or you can pre-order the entire wave here.

The next wave of Marvel Universe figures will bring us one very obscure Spider-man reference that few kids or collectors may understand. The set features an action figure wearing a brown paper bag on his head with a Fantastic Four suit and no shoes. The packaging refers to this toy as Spider-Man. So, what’s the deal? According to the Marvel Wiki:
“Twice Spider-Man has been forced to abandon his usual costume. When he lost the symbiote costume, Spider-Man was forced to use an old Fantastic Four costume, with a paper bag mask and a “Kick me” sign on his back. He was then sent into action as “The Amazing Bag-Man”. Another time without his suit, he was forced to go into action as “The Bombastic Bag-Man”. He has never been seen as either incarnation since. This costume is unlockable for Amazing Spider-Man in Spider-Man: Shattered Dimensions.”
This upcoming wave of Marvel heroes and villains featuring “The Amazing Bag-Man” will release in September or you can pre-order it here. The fine folks over at Badass Digest got a tour of the Marvel Universe booth at San Diego Comic. It’s worth a look, especially if you appreciate large dioramas and Marvel-themed 3.75-inch action figures.
