Figures Toy Company will unleash a second wave of “World’s Greatest Heroes!” figures. Featuring classic Batman characters, each new 8-inch toy is an exact replica of its original ’70s counterpart, right down to the cloth clothing, retro-styling and 16 points of articulation. Look for Bruce Wayne, Dick Grayson, the Penguin, and Catwoman in September or you can preorder the set here.

HOLY AWESOME ACTION FIGURES BATMAN!!! Entertainment Earth just released these two action figure images of Frank Gorshin as The Riddler and Burgess Meredith as The Penguin.  They are part of Mattel’s 1966 Batman line of toys.  UPDATE: Also, USAToday.com got the first two pics the Adam West 6-inch figure and the Batmobile ($49.99).  These toys will release in July at a suggested retail price of $15.99.

Batman: Arkham Asylum Breakout

LEGO has a new deluxe building set on the way that features several new figures and a new version of Gotham’s most notorious prison.  The new set comes with Batman, Robin, The Joker, The Penguin, Poison Ivy, Dr. Harleen Quinzel, Scarecrow and a guard, all with assorted weapons.  There is also a security van that features opening back doors, removable roof and stretcher.  Arkham Asylum itself measures measures over 12″ (32cm) high, 13″ (34cm) wide and 5″ (14cm) deep.  All 1,351 pieces of this new release will be available on LEGO’s website in January.

Batman Unlimited and DC Unlimited Wave 1

Mattel will launch two new lines of 7-inch comic book-inspired action figures soon. Wave 1 of the DC Unlimited series features Superman, Flash and Hawkman while the Batman Unlimited series kicks off with Batman, Batgirl and Penguin.  These will hit retail in December.
