We got our hands on the new Star Trek Into Darkness Enterprise building set from Hasbro. The review initially ran over on AintItCool.com. If you want to see how all the pieces fit together check out the time-lapse video we shot.
Hasbro sent us these pics of the new building block line of toys featuring the Joes’s and Cobras. The sets and individually packed figures are based off the original toy line, rather than the upcoming film. Many of these sets have begun to pop up at Toys R Us including Checkpoint Alpha, Ninja Temple Battle, Serpent Armor Strike, The Dragonfly XH-1 with Wild Bill, Cobra Armor Assault, the Thunderwave Jet Boat, the Battle Platform and the blind-packaged Kreons. Look for the Ghoststriker X-16 set, the Arashikage Dojo and another wave of Kreons in the fall.
StarTrek.com was the first to post these pics of Hasbro’s Kreo line of Star Trek toys. The new series will mostly focus on the new J.J. Abrams film, but a few familiar faces from other Star Trek films and television programs will make appearances. The biggest set features the U.S.S. Enterprise, with Kirk, Spock, McCoy and two unnamed bad guys. The 18-inch long ship requires 3 AAA batteries to power the glowing warp engines. All 432 building pieces and 5 Kreon figures will run you $69.99. The Klingons step into the KRE-O spotlight with the Bird of Prey building set. The ship only has room for one pilot, so you’ll have to choose whether Kirk, Uhura or the two Klingons will get to drive. The cockpit lights up and each wing has a firing projectile. That will run you $29.99 when it releases in May. Spock’s Volcano Mission Set features our favorite Vulcan in his special lava suit, Sulu, a shuttle with a light-up cockpit, a zip line, and an erupting rock. $19.99 will take you on this away mission. Scotty stars in the Transporter Trouble Building Set. The chamber illuminates while Scotty battles a bat’leth wielding Klingon. That will cost you $14.99. For $7.99, you can build your own fleet of micro-starships. The assortment includes the U.S.S. ENTERPRISE, KLINGON D7 BATTLE CRUISER, U.S.S. KELVIN and the JELLYFISH. Each building set comes with a LIGHTTECH illuminated display stand and approximately 34-42 pieces. Also for $7.99, you can create your own showdown between Kirk and a bad guy with a really big gun that fires small projectiles in an illuminated air lock. Finally, you will be able to purchase individual Kreon figures. Series one will feature GORN, CAPTAIN NERO, KEENSER, GRASIA, KINGON and LIEUTENANT SPRONG. In the fall we’ll be able to pick up 12 more characters including CAPTAIN KIRK, SPOCK, BORG DRONE and GENERAL CHANG. Look for most of these toys to hit retail in May.
It’s classic Joes versus Cobra in Hasbro’s latest building block line of toys. Beginning in February, Toys “R” Us stores will exclusively sell KRE-O G.I. JOE sets and mini-figures. Each G.I. JOE KREON figure will be sold blind-bagged and include a unique weapon and accessories. The first wave will feature Rock N’ Roll, Kim Arashikage, Cobra Trooper, Crimson Guard Trooper, Scarlett, Cobra Axe Ninja, Cobra Ninja Viper, Quick Kick, Cobra Alley Viper, Torpedo and Adventure Team Commander. Those will sell for $2.99 each.
