Hot Toys has gone the extra step of making its new Iron Man 3 movie figure partially made out of metal. The 1/6 scale Iron Patriot contains diecast material, a head sculpt bearing the likeness of Don Cheadle (not pictured), an alternate light-up head, 36 points of articulation, multiple interchangeable hands, a rotatable machine gun on the back, and LEDs on the chest, palms and figure stand. He’s up for preorder now with an arrival date sometime in November.
This new line of 3.75-inch action figures from Hasbro features swappable limbs and weapons. It also features terrible articulation, average paint applications, decent sculpting and cheap plastic.
With Iron Man 3 hitting theaters in May, we’re starting to see a bunch of new action figure product pics on the web. Entertainment Earth has put up for pre-order the first series of 3.75-inch Assemblers. The limbs on each figure swap with the others in the line, so you can customize and create your own armored suit for Tony Stark. Expect to see Iron Man Mark 42, Starboost Iron Man (White/Gray), Iron Patriot (Blue/Silver/Red), Stealth Tech Iron Man (Black/Champagne), Hypervelocity Iron Man (Gunmetal), and War Machine Movie (Black/Silver) at your local retail outlet starting in March.
Hasbro plans to release an entire line of Iron Man-themed Marvel Legends figures in March. The first wave will include Classic Horned Iron Man, Heroic Age Iron Man and Iron Patriot. Each figure will include a build-a-figure piece to form a comic book version of Iron Monger. These are up for pre-order here.
