Torrence, CA will host this year’s convention for He-Man and ThunderCats fans September 22-23. Mattel has announced that the first 1,000 people through the door will get a special limited Masters of the Universe Classics weapon. The accessory is a mystery, but Pixel Dan tracked down a few new details from Mattel about the giveaway:
- The accessory is a weapon
- The accessory was a “happy accident” that Mattel realized would make for a perfect giveaway
- There are only 1,000 pieces made
- This is a Power-Con ONLY exclusive. Since there are only 1,000 pieces made, once they are out they are gone for good. Don’t expect these to be made available anywhere else after Power-Con
- This is a secret to even the Power-Con staff, and it will remain that way until the event begins.

If your Freddy action figure looks lonesome standing on the shelf all by itself, perhaps this new accessory from NECA will cheer him up. This replica furnace features a hinged door, a LED light inside to simulate the flickering flames, and a paint job that replicates it’s old weathered look. It will release in October for around $40 (sans Freddy action figure) or you can pre-order it here.

The mighty muscled Russian mutant, Colossus, makes his Marvel Select debut in Art Asylum’s and Diamond Select’s Marvel Select line. He comes with the classic robotic vise Danger Room obstacle, in scale with all previous Danger Room accessories. Colossus features Marvel Select’s standard 16 points of articulation and stands over 8-inches tall. You can combine his base with those of Gambit and Cyclops (each sold separately) to form a Danger Room diorama. Look for him in October.
