MOTUC Will Return in 2014

MOTUMeter_newsPage_v12-185x300 Good news and bad news for fans.  First the good news: Masters of the Universe Classics subscriptions will return in 2014.  The bad news: Club Infinite Earths and the Ecto-1 have been killed.  All three of these action figure lines needed to hit a set preorder goal by August 20.  While it looks like Ghostbusters fans will probably never get the 6-inch scale $215 station wagon, Matty did hint that some of the unreleased DC figures may still see the light of day.

It may be possible to release a few DCU figures quarterly, or to release 12 figures at higher non-subscription prices. Or, we may have to say a final goodbye to this line at the end of this year. Without the sub, we just don’t know what’s possible at this point. Over the next few months we’ll be meeting internally and with all of our partners at Warner Bros., DC Comics, and Sony, and we’ll let you know as soon as we can what our options are.

For those that still want to signup for the 2014 MOTUC subscription, Matty will reopen the Club Eternia enrollment for a short time soon.

I don’t know why they were expecting people to shell out $215 for an Ecto-1.
It’s no Millennium Falcon, and with the disappointing reviews for the Back to the Future Hoverboard, it’s no wonder collectors are gun shy.
