USAToday.com got the exclusive first look at Hasbro’s exclusive offerings at this year’s San Diego Comic Con. Among some of the more notable releases you’ll find the already announced Star Wars Black 6-inch Boba Fett with Han in carbonite ($49.99). Following the crossover releases of the last two years, Hasbro will serve up another G.I. Joe/Transformers mashup ($99.99). This time we get a V.A.M.P. with a Hound paint job, a Skystriker with a Jetfire design, a Snake Eyes with Autobot logo on his uniform, the Baroness with Ravage, a boombox inspired by Blaster, and a robot samurai based on the Decepticon designs of Bludgeon. Finally, Marvel Legends fans can expect to see a new Thunderbolts five pack featuring Judith Chambers, Ghost, Crossbones, Luke Cage and Moonstone ($89.99).
We got a look at the new 12-inch electronic Snake Eyes action figure from the Retaliation toy line. Adult collectors may want to steer clear of it, but the kids will probably dig this Joe with swinging arms and sound effects.
For the first time ever, we’re getting a 3.75-inch action figure that bears the likeness of Bruce Willis. Did Hasbro treat this new Joe Colton from the G.I. Joe: Retaliation line like an A-list celebrity or a quick cash-in opportunity?
Hasbro sent us these pics of the new building block line of toys featuring the Joes’s and Cobras. The sets and individually packed figures are based off the original toy line, rather than the upcoming film. Many of these sets have begun to pop up at Toys R Us including Checkpoint Alpha, Ninja Temple Battle, Serpent Armor Strike, The Dragonfly XH-1 with Wild Bill, Cobra Armor Assault, the Thunderwave Jet Boat, the Battle Platform and the blind-packaged Kreons. Look for the Ghoststriker X-16 set, the Arashikage Dojo and another wave of Kreons in the fall.
