Universal Monsters Retro Cloth Series 4

Diamond Select Toys and EMCE Toys have another round of 8-inch Mego-styled monsters on the way. This time classic sci-fi and horror fans can expect to see Lon Chaney’s Phantom of the Opera and the Metaluna Mutant from This Island Earth grace the shelves of your local toy or specialty store. Each figure has real fabric clothing, comes in resealable retro-styled packaging and sports multiple points of articulation.  These will creep into toy collection in September or you can preorder them here.

Mirror Universe Retro Kirk and Spock

Mego never made any Star Trek toys based on the classic episode “Mirror, Mirror.” EMCE Toys and Diamond Select Toys will soon remedy that problem with two new figures based on Kirk and Spock. Both characters feature real cloth costumes in the retro 1970s style, as well as episode-specific accessories and facial hair. They’ll beam down in December or you can pre-order them here.

Create Your Own Super-Hero Kit

Emce Toys first brought us the Create Your Own Zombie kit. Now the company has moved on to Super Heroes. Here’s what you’ll find in the box:

-3 articulated base bodies (4″ tall)
-5 heads with different mask and hair configurations
-2 pairs of spare hands
-2 capes, 2 brushes
-6 plastic jars of paint-
-1 decal sheet

The kit will release in August for around $30.
