Diamond Select Toys brings two classic creature designs into the action figure realm with a new wave of Universal Monsters.  First we have Lon Chaney in the title role of 1923′s The Phantom of the Opera.  He stands 7-inches tall, fully articulated and comes with an organ.  Then we have the Metaluna Mutant from 1955′s This Island Earth.  He’s 7-inches high and is packaged with the interocitor device.  These will run you around $20 each with a release date of September.

Lon Chaney and Boris Karloff get immortalized with a new set of 2-inch figures from Diamond Select Toys.  1925′s Hunchback of Notre Dame will inspire a 4-pack featuring Quasimoto, Phoebus, Esmeralda and a “King of Fools” version of the Hunchback.  The other 4-pack is based on 1932′s The Mummy with Im-Ho-Tep, his Sarcophagus, Princess Anck-es-en-Amon and Helen Grosvenor.  Both sets will release to specialty stores and comic shops in September.  Toys R Us will also sell two-packs featuring The Mummy’s Princess Anck-es-en-Amon with an exclusive figure of Henry Whemple, and a black and white set with Lon Chaney as Quasimodo and Boris Karloff as Im-Ho-Tep.
